Located across the woods in Old Edgebrook this house was designed to keep its integrity. The front was lovingly restored, while an
addition to the rear seems as if it was part of
the original design. The interior was remodeled
from top to bottom in stages including living,
sleeping, exercise, recreation, and kitchen
areas. A complete redesign of the
interior and exterior including the landscape.
The design befriends the character of the house,
keeping its wonderful elements such as the
staircase, while updating itself in aspects of
contemporary living. The award winning kitchen
provides circular views, fine details and
craftsmanship. The circular table rests on one
leg and anchors a family
gathering, while the island functions as the center topped with a ‘pool
table’ lamp. The ceiling is made
of pressed metal painted to link the kitchen to the home in time and memory. The clients have praised the design choices for the house and are happily raising their family within it. |
