Constantine D. Vasilios and Associates, Inc.

As a consultant with the Chicago Park District, Constantine D. Vasilios was responsible for the renovation of the Dairy Barn in collaboration with Robert Jones. Farm in the Zoo as it is known required an update of its interiors and a freshening of the exterior of its Dairy Barn. The design created a friendly place for children and adults. Walls were lowered to take into account a child’s perspective. Silk screen cows on tiles accented the view from below. Practical considerations required ceiling insulation reminiscent of hay, while painted industrial fixtures provided the lighting necessary for each day’s events.
